Gerard and Christine Bernauer have a passion for horses and their hobby of barrel racing. Their son Alex, recently graduated from Michigan State University and continues his love to run by competeing in 26.2 mile Marathons. If you visit their farm, you will soon be greeted by their many special pets, Timbit (Mini-Aussie with all the tricks), Sissy (sister), Tex (handsome German Shepard), Angel (spoiled Dwarf Mini-Horse), Daisy (Mini Donkey) and Baby the fat goat! Gerard and Christine are members of the National Barrel Horse Association, the Ontario Barrel Racing Association, the Ontario Equestrian Federation, the Ontario Racing Commission, the Southern Trail Riders Club, the MFA (Meilleurs Futurity Association) and the Barrel Futurities of America. They are proud to announce that their Stallion, Royal Dashing Prince,’ is enrolled in the Future Fortunes Incentive Program. They barrel race throughout Ontario, Quebec and the United States. Christine recently made the ‘Canadian Cowgirl Precision Drill Team’ which performs throughout North America. They also put on the largest rodeo event in Western Ontario, the ‘ROCK N RODEO’, voted the ‘Best Rodeo of the Year!’ (2012)
History
Gerard has been barrel racing for over 35 years. He has had the privilege of riding many great barrel horses over the years and winning many trophy saddles, buckles, awards and a Four Star trailer. One horse, 'Hot Bug Lite', is the only Canadian horse to win a go in the derby at the BFA World Show in Oklahoma. Many of his horses have set arena records throughout North America and one horse is currently competing in Italy.
